Examples of Volunteer Roles

  • Food Pantry Assistant: Help keep our pantry running smoothly by organizing and distributing food to those in need.
  • Community Garden Volunteer: Work alongside garden staff to maintain our gardens and educate others on sustainable gardening practices.
  • Project Assistant: Lead engaging projects and activities for community members, creating moments of joy and creativity.
  • Golden Companions Pen Pal: Connect with seniors through letters, cards, and occasional calls, brightening their days with meaningful interactions.

Requirements and Support

  • Training: We provide required trainings, including sexual harassment prevention and safety protocols, so you’re prepared to serve in your role confidently.
  • Safety First: Your safety is our priority. Volunteers are equipped with safety training and guidance to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
  • Background Screening: Depending on the role, a basic background check may be required, particularly for volunteers working with vulnerable populations.
