A dining experience you’ll never forget!
Arrowleaf is thrilled to announce that we are working on adding a Supported Employment program to Developmental Services and Behavioral Health areas of focus this Fall and offer our worksite to be a placement for enrollees of the WIOA and SEP programs.
In general, a Supported Employment (SE) program is an approach to vocational rehabilitation for people with serious mental illnesses and individuals with disabilities. It emphasizes helping them obtain competitive work in the community and providing the support necessary to ensure their success in the workplace. SE programs help consumers find jobs that pay competitive wages in integrated settings (i.e., with other people who don’t necessarily have disabilities) in the community.
Our Supported Employment worksite will be named Clyffe Cafe in Vienna and will soon be renovated to allow space for a 1,976 sq. ft. restaurant within its 4,080 sq. ft. layout. The remaining area will continue to be used for classrooms and office space for our community day services and supported employment programming.
Morgan Banks is the site coordinator for the Clyffe Cafe. She has over 10 years of experience providing direct support services with Arrowleaf in its developmental services and has over 10 years of experience in restaurant management.
Clyffe Cafe is anticipated to open to the public during the fall of 2023! More details about the hours of operation and our homecooked menu will be available here and on our Facebook group shortly.
What do Arrowleaf and the Clyffe Cafe mean to us?
Our name, Arrowleaf, holds a lot of meaning in our community. The Arrowleaf plant is indigenous to Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest region. Thriving in adverse conditions of sand and gravel, this plant is beautiful and resilient, just like the people we work with who overcome adversity and find ways to fulfill their potential despite the challenges they may face.
The Clyffe Cafe pays homage to the Ferne Clyffe State Park in Johnson County. Ferne Clyffe is home to several species of arrowleaf plants and is best known for its waterfall, abundance of ferns, and distinctive geological features. Our cafe is as unique as the park – both offer inspiring glimpses into what our community has to offer.
